6 Recurrence Patterns
From simple daily shifts to complex monthly rotations — every scheduling pattern is covered.
Daily
Runs every day. Ideal for full-time drivers who work the same shift 7 days a week.
Every N Days
Repeats at a custom interval. Set every 2, 3, or any number of days for rotating shifts.
Weekly
Pick specific days of the week. The most common pattern — e.g., Mon/Wed/Fri morning shifts.
Biweekly
Alternates between two different weekly patterns. Week A might be Mon-Fri, Week B might be Tue-Thu.
Monthly by Date
Runs on a specific date each month. The 1st, 15th, or the last day of every month.
Monthly by Day
Runs on a specific day occurrence. "First Monday", "Last Friday", or "Third Wednesday" of every month.
Automatic Schedule Expansion
Recurring schedules automatically expand into individual daily schedule entries up to 14 days ahead. This means:
- Dispatchers can see upcoming schedules on the calendar immediately
- Drivers know their shifts well in advance
- Conflicts are detected before they happen, not on the day
- If you change the template, future schedules regenerate automatically
Conflict Detection
Waybill prevents double-booking automatically. If a driver already has a schedule for a particular date and time, you'll be warned before creating a conflicting entry.
Conflicts are checked across all schedule types — recurring templates, one-off schedules, and even jobs that have already been assigned to that driver.
Vehicle Assignment
Each schedule entry can specify a vehicle, or the driver's default vehicle is used. The dispatch system respects these vehicle assignments when making job assignments:
- Schedule has a vehicle? That vehicle is used for jobs on that day.
- No schedule vehicle? The driver's default vehicle is used.
- No default? The driver is excluded from vehicle-dependent assignments.
Schedule Status Tracking
Each schedule entry progresses through a clear lifecycle, giving dispatchers visibility into who's working and when.
Scheduled
Auto-generated from template. Default state.
Confirmed
Driver or dispatcher has acknowledged the shift.
In Progress
Driver is currently on this shift.
Completed
Shift finished successfully.
Cancelled
Shift was cancelled. Excluded from dispatch.
